This sculpture was inspired by the spherical pom pom dahlias in my garden.  It is made of lots of tiny hand sculpted pieces of porcelain paper clay mounted on a thrown porcelain base.  The edges of the petals are painted in copper oxide giving it a dark matt green finish.
 
This sculpture is approximately 13cm in diameter and 3.5cm in depth.
